Three years after the first version of DiveShopManager 2.0 and almost five years after the release of DSM 1.0, we feel that we have created the world's best dive center software so far! DiveShopManager 2.5 doesn't leave much space for more wishes! DSM 2.5 is faster, it is extremely stable and it contains many new features like; even better statistic views, lockable financial statistics, exportable payment lists to be used in third party software, a birthday calendar, hourly rentals, and more. Our promised update of DiveShopManager to version 2.5 is a bit off the calendar. The main reason for the delay is that we had to build some more special request features like the password protected statistics and report area, allowing only administrators to create statistic reports and export data.

Talking about exporting data. DSM 2.5 will be able to export all invoice and cash register data for any range of time to an xls file. The xls file can than be imported to any bookkeeping software or excel table.

One more interesting new feature in DiveShopManager 2.5 and the biggest change so far is the ability to use the internet with DSM!
What about if you could collect your customer data prior to their arrival in your dive resort easily via a web form that is integrated or hooked on to your existing website? You could have all forms printed out and ready for signing at the customers arrival. Your customers will love you for that because it saves them valuable holiday time and your dive center will make a very professional first impression!

It won't be long anymore! By next week we will be ready to release DiveShopManager 2.5! The big jump from version 2.03 to 2.5 happened because of the long development phase without actually releasing any of the versions in between. With more than 30 changes our dive center software has now become better than ever! Like always, we have been listening to the voices of our users and implemented most suggestions that came up during the past year. Two years after the final release of DiveShopManager 2.0, we are proud to have so many dive centers in so many countries working with DSM!

Here are some of the improvements, added in the new version: DSM 2,5 will have a birthday calendar, allowing you to send out birthday e-mails to your divers. Additionally to the daily rentals there will also be hourly rentals for water sports such as kite surfing, wind surfing, kayak rental and so on. Furthermore, the cash box statistics will be password protected. New in the cash management section is, that the invoice data can now be exported, allowing the use of the data in third party book keeping software.

The economy goes down everywhere and the scuba diving industry isn't an exception of the phenomena. My buddy Greg at divebuddy .com has just written an interesting blog about it. The article begins like this:
